Definitely a challenging trail. We hiked clockwise this time, doing the steepest part first and taking the long gradual decline to the end. I recommend wearing shoes that will grip, as the trail is r… Full review by joaniemaria

If you are looking for a good workout close to Palm Springs, this trail is it! It's challenging going up and the view going down is amazing. The trailhead is easy to find, there's free parking, and t… Full review by M7411CLjang

It was suggested we hike up the right side trail as it would be the least difficult, but I just read a review that said " the right side is more narrow and difficult to navigate going down and so recommend doing the hike clockwise" ..are there multiply hikes or just one circular? What are their distances and approximate time to do? We plan to arrive around 1:00-2:00 this afternoon.

The total distance is three miles and the hike takes over an hour to complete. I always go clockwise as I like to get the hard stuff over first. It is a circular hike with the right side being steeper and shorter and the left side being longer and less steep. There is an additional hike at the top which takes an additional thirty minutes. If you have time and the hike has not worn you out I would very much recommend the top portion. It is a go up and come down the same trail hike. In the summer it can be very hot and I have seen rattlesnakes up there so just be cautious. Water is a must on this hike, especially in the hot weather.
