Sorry - just saw this and the day is done - but for whatever it is worth it was probably closed - also closed every Monday. Go visit - you will love the visit and be glad that you took time out - go with time to spare and must pay your respects to the Buddha's relics and also visit the newly opened Jewellery section - actuall I recommend seeing the entire museum - it is one of my all time favorite places in Delhi. If you have time and the interest you might visit the National Gallery of Modern Art which is just down the road - another must see.
