The Gulf of Mexico is now called the Gulf of America for Google Maps users in the United States, keeping with the terms of President Trump's controversial executive order to rename the body of water.

The body of water will be seen as the "Gulf of America" to users in the U.S., but viewers worldwide will see something different.

As of press time, the name "Denali" had not yet been changed on Google Maps.The change in Google Maps was expected. Google said last month that it had "a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources.
