Harshit Rana was added to the India playing XI for the fourth T20 against England as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube. However, this decision was controversial, with some claiming that Harshit was not a like-for-like replacement.

Even though Ramandeep Singh, a batting all-rounder like Dube, was on the bench, Harshit Rana was the name India proposed to Javagal Srinath, the match referee.

Michael Vaughan said that Harshit Rana should not have been brought in as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube in the fourth T20I on Friday at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

In the fourth T20I against England, Harshit Rana replaced Shivam Dube as a concussion substitute after Dube suffered a blow on the helmet. Despite controversies, India's bowling coach Morne Morkel clarified that the match referee approved Ranas inclusion.

Harshit came in as a substitute for the injured Dube after a speedy delivery hit him on the head in the final over of India's innings.

All-rounder Shivam Dube was hit on the helmet by a Jamie Overton delivery on the final over of the Indian innings. Dube complained of mild headache and fast-bowler Harshit Rana replaced him as a concussion substitute.
