Organizers are calling for the public to protest to show “our collective dismay at the forced resignation of UVA President Jim Ryan."

Some UVA board members reportedly met with DOJ officials to see what could be done to end the probe into possible civil-rights violations and were told the president needed to step aside.

James Ryan, the president of the University of Virginia (UVA), has reportedly shared plans to resign later this year.
