Gov. Ron DeSantis has named his new second-in-command: Tampa Republican Sen. Jay Collins.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis announces the opening today of a second detention center in his state to house and process undocumented immigrants.

“There is a demand for this,” DeSantis said. “I'm confident it will be filled.”
