The Los Angeles Lakers waived guard Jordan Goodwin shortly after releasing Shake Milton to clear space for the arrival of Marcus Smart.

The Lakers are set to sign veteran guard Marcus Smart to a two-year, $11 million deal. In order to make room for the veteran guard, a pair of younger players had to go. Earlier Sunday, Los Angeles waived 28-year-old guard Shake Milton,

Goodwin joined the Lakers midway through and was a solid piece. He started five of the 29 games he played for the purple and gold, and he also appeared in a handful of playoff games. With the Lakers, Goodwin averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc.
