At least two high school students in New York City have been detained by ICE in the past several weeks, part of an intensification of attacks on immigrants across New York and all over the country.
New York Supreme Court Justice Mary Rosado granted a preliminary injunction siding with the New York City Council. The group alleges Adams’ office issued an order allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement to operate at the prison as part of a quid pro quo agreement that ensured the Justice Department dropped its corruption charges against him.
The group rallied near a building that houses an immigration court, which has become a flashpoint amid the arrests of migrants in courthouses.
