There is almost 65 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity under development in the U.S., enough to power more than 26 million homes, and some turbines are already spinning in several states.

While a blade failure has snarled construction of Vineyard Wind, the South Fork project went into operation earlier this year and offshore construction of Revolution Wind is well underway, with 52 of its 67 monopile foundations already in the water and nine turbines mounted.
