Providence Health announced that all eight of its hospitals are prepared to resume negotiations with the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA).

The largest health care strike in Oregon history began early Friday at Providence facilities across the state, as roughly 5,000 frontline health professionals walked off the job. The strike — which includes thousands of nurses along with 150 doctors and advanced practitioners — spans Providence’s eight hospitals in the state and six women’s clinics.

On the fifth day of the largest health care strike in Oregon history, Providence indicated it is ready to resume negotiation talks with the some 5,000 striking nurses and doctors across its eight hospitals.

Providence Health & Services in Oregon said Monday it was ready to resume talks with striking nurses at six of its hospitals — and it went on the offensive, accusing physicians also on strike of violating federal labor law.
