Penn State, the No. 6 seed in the CFP, will square off with No. 7 Notre Dame in the national semifinals. The Fighting Irish secured their spot in the CFP semis after defeating No. 2 Georgia in the CFP quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl on Thursday night in New Orleans.

While Notre Dame’s win against Georgia was the first win in a big bowl game in more than 30 years, Penn State is still searching for that level of win under James Franklin.
