Qatar Airways on Thursday (September 19) imposed a ban on passengers departing from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY), prohibiting them from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on board.

After deadly walkie-talkie explosions in Lebanon, Qatar Airways has prohibited passengers from bringing pagers and walkie-talkies on flights from Beirut. The ban will remain until further notice as rescue operations continue.

Qatar Airways took this step after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Lebanon issued a circular to all airlines.

The ban applies to both checked and carry-on luggage, as well as cargo, and will be enforced until further notice. Qatar Airways announced the regulations on social media platform X.

Officials in Lebanon reportedly have banned pagers and walkie-talkies from being brought onboard planes departing Beirut following explosions targeting Hezbollah.
