The trio of Shedeur Sanders, Hunter and Deion Sanders are a major part in Colorado's turnaround over the last few seasons. In 2022, before they arrived in Boulder, the program went 1-11. Two seasons later, they finished with nine wins and nearly reached the Big 12 Championship and the College Football Playoff.

Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback, won the 2024 Heisman Trophy earlier this month, and he and quarterback Sanders are both projected first-round NFL Draft picks in 2025. It’d be reasonable to think they’d opt out of No. 23 Colorado’s Alamo Bowl game Saturday against No. 17 BYU.

The Cougars picked off Sanders twice, limited Hunter to one highlight-reel touchdown and moved down the field with ease.

Colorado football quarterback Shedeur Sanders is not happy with how his season ended. Sanders and Colorado got knocked around by BYU, and lost the Alamo Bowl Saturday. The departing quarterback did however feel that the future of the Colorado program is bright.
