The men who were placed on a deportation flight headed for the chaotic nation of South Sudan were originally from countries as far away as Vietnam.

A federal district court judge in Boston ruled on Wednesday that the Trump administration’s attempt to send several immigrants from other countries to South Sudan violated a court order blocking the government from deporting people to third countries without allowing them to object to their removal.

The deportees are stuck in Djibouti amid a legal fight over their expulsions. A lawyer for some of the men said she was concerned for their health and welfare.
