No Kings protests were held Saturday in nearly 2,000 places across the U.S. The protests were planned on the same day as the military parade in D.C.

The"No Kings" protests are planned to oppose what they see as Trump's power grab. The number of planned events is nearly double that of the April 5 "Hands Off" protest that saw millions of Americans turn out in big and small cities nationwide.

Taylor is among more than 60 locations in Texas hosting “No Kings” protests, according to the organization’s website.

The Texas Department of Safety has identified a “credible threat toward state legislators” attending Saturday's “No Kings” protest at the Capitol.

A protest at the Texas Capitol Saturday comes after Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s deployment of the state’s National Guard to Austin and other Texas cities following a Monday night

The Houston demonstration is one of several planned in the region throughout the day and is expected to draw thousands of protesters.
