Pastrnak gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead just 29 seconds into the game. Mason Lohrei gained control of the puck in the defensive zone and quickly threaded a stretch pass to Pastrnak, who skated in and beat Stolarz blocker side on a breakaway.

Mitch Marner scored his second goal of the game in the final minute of overtime, and the Toronto Maple Leafs overcame a three-goal deficit to beat the Boston Bruins 5-4.

Though he’s no longer drawing top-line matchups like in his heyday with the New York Islanders when he was a perennial MVP candidate, Tavares has an offensive zone faceoff percentage of just 45 percent this season. That’s the lowest number of his career and means he’s having to dig his way out of the D-zone more often than before.
