It’s the beginning of a new era for a legendary Atlanta nightclub. Dance club MJQ held the grand opening of its new location at Underground Atlanta Wednesday night. MJQ moved to Underground Atlanta from its previous location on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

DJ Bishop Don, Jeremy Avalon and Durrty Martinez were among those to play sets on the club's final night on Ponce. According to the club's history page, it opened in the basement of the Ponce de Leon Hotel in 1994 and then moved to its long-beloved location in an underground former blues club in 1997.

MJQ Concourse reopens Jan. 29 in the former Dante's Down the Hatch at Underground Atlanta, offering multiple dance floors, bars, and a time capsule honoring the vibe of "old Ponce" and the legendary Downtown restaurant space.
