Yankee Stadium is the fourth permanent home of the franchise, following Hilltop Park (1903-12), the Polo Grounds (1913-22), and the original Yankee Stadium (1923-73, ’76-2008). The Yankees also played two full seasons at Shea Stadium (1974-75) in Queens when the original Stadium underwent remodeling.
In Sunday's Subway Series finale, the Yankees will send their best pitcher, Max Fried, against the Mets and Juan Soto at Yankee Stadium.
The 6-4 superstar had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch for Sunday’s Subway Series rubber match at Yankee Stadium. Stewart, a right-hander with the same height and similar frame as Sunday’s Yankee starter Max Fried, used a short leg kick and delivered to catcher J.C. Escarra.
Yankees fans wanted to teach Soto a lesson. They pictured him being embarrassed by Carlos Rodon (who instead walked Soto three times) and then being out-performed by Aaron Judge. A 400-foot home run by the captain would’ve put Soto in his place. (No HRs, just two singles,)
