MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCN) — As the chances grow for a winter storm hitting North Carolina this weekend, the Outer Banks and other coastal communities could be dealing with a blizzard — along with flooding.
In Buffalo's case, this storm was a bit unusual in that its total snowfall wasn't eye catching. Officially, Buffalo picked up 12.3 inches of snowfall from Jan. 28 through Feb. 1, 1977. That sounds like a lot, but it's fairly modest for a city that averages 95 inches of snowfall a year.
