2-alarm brush fire scorches several acres in central Berks [Map]

A two-alarm brush fire in township erupted across several acres in Bern Township Thursday afternoon, according to emergency reports. Initial reports of the fire in the 1100 block of Fairview Drive came from a homeowner, who said about five acres were on fire and that one of his golf carts was caught in the blaze.
