Over the weekend there were violent clashes between federal agents, witnesses and protesters. Locals say the festivities were muted this year, and fear more violence is in store for the city.

Shots were fired in a downtown Chicago office building on Thursday morning. The shooting occurred around 9:50 am on the 17th floor of a technology company's high-rise building on the 200 block of S. LaSalle Street. Chicago police told The Huffington Post that both the offender and the victim were found unresponsive with gunshots wounds to the head.
