Friday night’s win is the first time in Mega Millions player matched all six numbers since an anonymous ticket holder won the $348 million jackpot during the June 27 drawing in Burgess, Virginia. There have been 39 consecutive winless drawings between the jackpot winners.

The combined Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are now over $1.5 billion. Mega Millions has climbed to $965 million and the Powerball to $546 million.

A Mega Millions ticket sold in Georgia won the $980 million jackpot in Friday’s lottery drawing. The winning ticket matched all six numbers drawn: 1, 8, 11, 12 and 57, plus the gold Mega Ball 7. The cash option for the winner is $452.2 million.

The longest Mega Millions winless streak continued Friday night as no ticket matched all six numbers, ballooning the grand prize to a whopping $900 million. The winning numbers drawn for the $843 million jackpot were 16, 21, 23, 48, 70 with the Mega ball 5.
