The Los Angeles Chargers beat the Denver Broncos in a Thursday Night Football contest 34-27. After a stellar performance, former Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert is closing in on another NFL record held by Peyton Manning.

Justin Herbert passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns, including a go-ahead 19-yarder to Derius Davis early in the fourth quarter, and the Los Angeles Chargers got closer to wrapping up a playoff spot by rallying past the Denver Broncos 34-27 on Thursday night.

Justin Herbert not only led the Los Angeles Chargers to a comeback against the Denver Broncos in their "Thursday Night Football" showdown, but he also made NFL history in the process.

On Thursday night in Los Angeles, the 26-year-old quarterback helped the Chargers mount an 11-point comeback, leading his offense to 21 straight points on the Broncos' defense in the second half. Herbert threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Tuesday referred to Justin Herbert’s touchdown pass this past Thursday to wide receiver Derius Davis as a “zero gravity throw.” Photos and videos indicate Herbert did not have either foot on the ground when he rolled to his left and delivered a throw across his body to a streaking Davis in the end zone.
