Friday morning, Mahaffey posted to social media that he had committed to the University of Akron for his final season of college basketball. A 6-foot-6, 220-pound player, Mahaffey began his career at Penn State before transferring to the Buckeyes when coach Micah Shrewsberry took the same job at Notre Dame.
