A helicopter crashed in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand on Sunday, killing seven people on board. Local officials said the aircraft was flying from the town of Kedarnath to Guptkashi, which is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site in the Himalayas.

Funerals were held in Ahmedabad for some of the Air India plane crash victims as authorities handed over their bodies to grieving families. DNA tests have also identified 80 victims of one of the deadliest plane crashes in decades.

Three days after the crash, only 35 bodies had been handed over to relatives from an overall official death toll of 270.

A Delhi-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight has been forced to turn back on Monday after the aircraft’s pilot said the jet was facing technical issues mid-air. The Air India flight, AI 315, was operating from Hong Kong to Delhi and had departed from the Asian city at 11.59am local time for its scheduled destination in New Delhi.

Hardik Avaiya, 27, and Vibhooti Patel, 28, were traveling back to their home in England after celebrating their engagement with their families and friends when they were killed in the tragic incident.
