A two-minute silence for Armistice Day has been disrupted by a protester. The woman shouted shortly after 11:00 GMT at Forbury Gardens in Reading, seemingly about the conflict in Gaza. A video filmed by a BBC crew shows her holding a placard that a man wrestled out of her hands before she addressed the crowd.

The day is commemorated every year to mark the signing of the armistice between the Allies and Germany in 1918. It comes after civic and political leaders laid wreaths at war memorials around the UK on Sunday.

The prime minister was in Paris, while Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh led events at the National Memorial Arboretum.

People from across the borough observed a two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day outside Blackburn Town Hall. Services commemorating Remembrance Sunday were held over the weekend in Blackburn and Darwen to remember those in our armed forces who have fallen in past and current wars.
