Participants from the western third of the country were sent packing from the College Football Playoffs. Here's a look at more winners and losers from the bowl season.

Most expected two blowouts in the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff. The routs, however, were anticipated in the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl. Instead, the Rose Bowl between (8) Ohio State and (1) Oregon turned into one of the biggest mismatches of the entire CFP.

Head Coach Steve Sarkisian has Texas (13-2) in the postseason for the first time since 2009. While UT has run roughshod over the vast majority of their 22nd-ranked schedule, Texas was unable to avenge their only loss to Georgia losing a close 22-19 decision in the SEC Championship.
