Peace On Purpose is an initiative by the City of Greensboro that’s pushing for less violence and more community action. The Office of Community Safety held a peace declaration on Lawndale Drive in Greensboro near the scene of a deadly shooting that took place on the morning of New Year’s Day.

“We send our condolences to the family, heartfelt, it's all we can do. It’s sad it’s the first day of the year," said 'Pops'. The shooting marks the first homicide for the City this year.
