Jiri Lehecka produced one of the biggest wins of his career with a hard-fought success against Carlos Alcaraz at the Qatar Open.

World no. 25 Jiri Lehecka notched his career-best victory at the ATP 500 event in Doha. The Czech faced world no.3 Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-final and earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory in two hours and nine minutes.

Alcaraz’s only other defeat in 2025 was to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open quarterfinals. The 21-year-old Spaniard, ranked No. 3, won the Rotterdam Open earlier this month.
