Kansas lawmakers on Tuesday overrode Governor Laura Kelly's veto of a measure that bans gender-affirming care for minors in the state.

TOPEKA, Kan. (TNND) — The Kansas Legislature on Tuesday overrode a veto by Gov. Laura Kelly on a bill banning gender transition procedures in the state for people under 18.

Gov. Laura Kelly, a Democrat, had vetoed the bill, but the Republican-controlled Legislature overwhelmingly supported it, following the lead of other conservative states.
