The Jan. 6 defendant fatally shot by a Jasper County Sheriff's deputy had been arrested at least four times since the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol and President Donald Trump issuing his pardon.
The Jasper County deputy was “legally justified in using deadly force to defend himself” in the Jan. 26 killing of Matthew Huttle, the Clinton County prosecutor's office said in a release.
