Metro Detroit is dealing with extreme cold weather this week. But just because it's cold, doesn't mean the job will stop for some.

We’ll ease the cold a bit today, but we’re adding some snow to the mix this morning. Expect another half inch or so of snow, bringing today’s totals to around 0.5-1.5" when combined with what fell overnight.

The extreme cold weather in Metro Detroit has led to increased health issues. Henry Ford and Corewell health systems both reported that they’re seeing slip and falls, frostbite, and hypothermia cases. The Detroit Medical Center has reported the same, but also burn injuries from fires used for warmth.
