The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-25 in Sunday’s Week 18 regular-season finale. Unfortunately, the Rams had already clinched the NFC West division. Head coach Sean McVay fielded a team largely consisting of backups as the Seahawks eyed their first 10-win season since 2020.

Minnesota’s 27-25 win over the Packers has given Los Angeles another win they need to clinch the NFC West due to the fifth tiebreaker (strength of victory) over the Seattle Seahawks. Now the Rams just need 0.

It is the Rams’ first division title since 2021, the year they won Super Bowl LVI. It is the franchise’s fourth NFC West title during McVay’s tenure, which began in 2017. And out of 390 teams in the Super Bowl era to start their seasons 1-4 or worse through five games, the Rams are the 14th to go on to win their division, per Pro Football Network.
