Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill's centuries propelled India to declare their second innings at 287 for 4 on the third day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Bangladesh responded with a score of 158 for four before poor light halted play.

During the third innings of the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test at Chennai, while Rishabh Pant was batting, he was seen at one point setting the field of the opposition, when he was at the crease. He sent instructions to the Bangladesh captain Najmul Hasan Shanto to shift the fielder to his favourable position.
