Sting is pulling out of his next few public engagements as he recovers from a temporary throat infection, the rock star announced Tuesday. In a post on his Instagram, the Police frontman's team wrote that he would be canceling his scheduled appearance at the Jan.

Sting has postponed three US concerts and canceled an awards appearance due to illness. In a statement published on Instagram on Wednesday, the British rock legend said that “with severe regret” he had canceled an appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards scheduled for Thursday following advice from his doctor.

"On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.
