NEW YORK, NY (WFSB) - A popular airline announced that it is the first to accept Venmo from customers. JetBlue made the announcement on Tuesday. It said by accepting Venmo, it now offers customers an easy and secure payment option when they book flights directly with JetBlue online.
Starting today, U.S.-based travelers can now use Venmo to pay for flights at checkout, the airline announced in a statement. This widely used peer-to-peer mobile payment app, powered by PayPal, allows users to send payments to individuals and retailers using their Venmo balance, linked bank accounts, or debit and credit cards.
JetBlue said it is the first carrier to accept Venmo payments. Customers can buy flights using their Venmo balance or through their linked bank accounts, debit cards or credit cards, the company said. Carol Clements, the airline's chief digital and technology officer, said Venmo offers customers a seamless payment option.
