Harris English finished with a flurry Friday afternoon in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open, carding birdies on his final three holes for a 6-under 66 and a one-stroke lead over Andrew Novak heading into Saturday’s final round.

English secured a one-stroke victory at 8 under 280 for his first victory in 3½ years. He completed the round with par on the last hole, needing to get home from 24 feet with two putts.

Harris English has been on a roll at Torrey Pines before, so the feeling was familiar when he really got it going late in the third round Friday.
