The NBA announced on Wednesday that they are suspending the Indiana Pacers swingman Mathurin for one game without pay due to his actions in Tuesday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. In their release, the league cited Mathurin “making inappropriate contact with and verbally abusing a game official” as the reasons for the suspension.

This is only a one-game suspension, so Mathurin will be back on Saturday for the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pacers are going to need him for as many games as possible because of the scoring and rebounding he brings to the roster. So far this season, Mathurin is averaging 16.5 points, six points, and two assists per game.

Although the Indiana Pacers momentarily held the fifth seed, they've since regressed one spot following Tuesday's 127-117 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their placement is in danger on Thursday against the Detroit Pistons, and the Pacers vs. Pistons injury report evokes stress for fans.
