Purple dead nettle may look just like any other weed growing in your lawn or backyard, ... After producing seeds, they often die as the temperature rises, particularly in late spring or early summer.

If left alone, deadnettle will set seeds as summer approaches then eventually fade away on its own accord and will be gone the remainder of the growing season.

Those seeds will remain in the soil until the following fall. As previously mentioned, the purple-blooming weeds like henbit and deadnettle are the most noticeable winter annuals.

Question: There is a purple flowering weed that is growing very happily throughout my lawn. Do I need to handpick or is there something easier to do?
