Marvel has announced the return of some Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stars in 2026's "Avengers: Doomsday," including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

Marvel unveiled 27 cast members to announce that Avengers: Doomsday was in production. The reveal came over a five-hour-long livestream where a new chair was revealed about every 15 minutes, before Doctor Doom star Robert Downey Jr. made a brief on-screen cameo.

The lineup includes both established characters and new arrivals, hinting at a rich narrative tapestry. For instance, Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s character Namor has a complex relationship in the comics with Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, setting the stage for potential dramatic encounters.

Following that massive Avengers announcement a few days ago, anticipation is high as the 2025 movie schedule will introduce The Fantastic Four: First Steps to the world, and that picture marks the start of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
