In the aftermath of a deadly attack that killed 14 people, officials at the Sugar Bowl, Georgia and Notre Dame dealt with a situation unlike any they had faced before.

Georgia prided itself over the last decade as one of the big bullies in college football, but on Thursday at the College Football Playoff, the Bulldogs were pushed aside by a bunch of misfits from Notre Dame.

Georgia was the popular pick among talking heads in the days leading up to the Bulldogs matchup with Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on January 2. It was hard to push back given Georgia's recent history of winning two of the last three national titles.
