D'Angelo Ortiz, the son of Red Sox legend David Ortiz, was promoted to Low-A Salem on Wednesday after spending time in the FCL.
In a May 21 game against the Mets, Hendricks got the loss after he allowed three earned runs in two-thirds of an inning. Hendriks, who beat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2023, received “horrible and cruel” threats after the game that he said were also targeted at his wife.
He became the first Red Sox player — ever — to strike out four times in consecutive games, doing so Monday and Tuesday.
