Starbucks plans to eliminate its mobile-order-only pick-up store concept by 2026, a move that could impact up to five locations in the Seattle area.

Caffeine is a necessity for many college students — but soon, University of Texas at Austin students living in the West Campus area will have to look elsewhere for their convenient java fix.

The coffee giant is walking away from a format it once bet big on: the mobile-order-only store, dubbed “Starbucks Pick Up.” Around 80 to 90 of these stripped-down locations — places with no seats, no counter, and barely a presence — are being shut down through 2026.
