Nine former women's basketball players at Western Oregon are suing their coaches and school, contending they were victims of physical abuse and bullying.

The suit alleges the NCAA Division II university allowed coaches to abuse players, then took away their scholarships in retaliation for speaking up.

A group of nine former Western Oregon women's basketball players are seeking roughly $28 million in a lawsuit that accuses their former coaches of multiple forms of abuse.

The women allege the abuse occurred during the 2023-24 season and caused lasting damage for some players, including eating disorders and panic attacks.
