Liverpool look set to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz for a club record transfer fee, with their latest offer reportedly being around £100m plus £13m in potential add-ons, according to Sky

Liverpool have made a second bid for Florian Wirtz, raising their offer to a club record £113m. Bayer Leverkusen are believed to want £150m for the Germany international, who would prefer a move to Anfield. Liverpool’s initial proposal came to £109m, including add-ons, but they have now submitted an improved offer with a greater guarantee of £100m.

Florian Wirtz knows what it is to be a wanted man. For many young footballers a summer where three of Europe's leading clubs (briefly) fought it out for his services might be enough to have their head spinning.
