Now, cursive barely is being taught. At the Williams School in Norfolk, Mrs. Jo Hamilton’s 3rd Grade Class loves writing in cursive. Hamilton has taught the class for nearly 20 years.

Georgia classrooms reintroduce cursive writing for students from third to fifth grade, making it part of assessed coursework.

Anyway, that’s what the little guy is looking forward to in the third grade. To this day, like a century ago, the learning of cursive writing is considered a very big deal.
