As the month of January rolls on, it is time to look at some of the standout high school basketball players from the state of Alabama last week. As always, we ask you, the fans to vote for who think the player of the week should be for games played from January 5-11.

Hoover, ranked No. 9 nationally by MaxPreps, will host Oak Mountain looking to stay unbeaten on the year. The Buccaneers are 20-0 and are coming off state championships in each of the past two seasons. Led by Tennessee-signee DeWayne Brown and UAB-signee Salim London, Hoover is well on their way to securing a three-peat.
