The xDrive45 has a 0-60 mph acceleration of 4.9 seconds compared to the higher end ($111,500 starting) M70 xDrive version’s 3.6 seconds. If you dig the lit kidneys, you can get the new iX in the US starting in the second quarter of this year after production begins in March.

For the 2026 model year, BMW adds the entry-level iX xDrive45, which has a 100.1-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery and 402 hp. It can accept charging rates up to 175 kilowatts (kW) at a DC fast-charging station, while other iX models can charge up to 195 kW.

BMW says the 2026 iX is also equipped with a new heat pump that's more efficient in a wider range of temperatures. It has a new storage heating function used to aid in pre-conditioning of the battery for DC fast charging in cold environments.
