The Great Ocean Road offers much of what many tourists want to see in Australia. Native wildlife such as koalas and colorful birds live in a raw habitat of lush foliage and dramatic cliffs.
I couldn’t help but notice Port Phillip Bay, due south of Melbourne and slightly east of the Great Ocean Road, formed a “pincer claw” of two peninsulas joining at the ocean.
While the Great Ocean Road is safe to drive, there is a stretch of about 120 km that has an infamous past. But don’t worry, the dangers are further out into the ocean.
