On this week’s “Gun of the Week,” American Rifleman take to the range a 1911 from Kimber that is chambered for 9 mm Luger, adapted for concealed carry and fitted for optics.

Kimber’s Master Carry family has a gun in each of these sizes. They are called the Master Carry Custom with a 5-inch barrel and Master Carry Pro with a 4-inch barrel and shortened slide assembly.

I tested Kimber’s Ultra Carry II in 45 ACP. This is a short grip, aluminum framed 1911 style gun, with a 3” bull barrel. At 25 oz, it is a good gun for EDC.
